Gerrel Jones GERREL JONES is a PROMISE of his environment, not a product.
Born legally blind to a single mother with mental health issues and an addicted father, this only child would suffer many abuses and inflict many abuses on others before landing in prison with a life sentence for murder in 1992.
His miraculous release would come as the result of his faith in Christ that was radically different from the religion he learned growing up.
His continued practice of those principles upon leaving prison has made him an entrepreneur, property owner, nonprofit leader, violence reduction strategist, community organizer, author, educator, mentor, husband, pet owner and minister.
In 2017 he purchased a home in the neighborhood that had the highest number of homicides and set out to redeem his life and his community. Just so happened that the neighborhood in question was Ensley, the place of his origin.
